Creating a Wonderful Outdoor Living Space

Posted at 12:22 am under House and Home

The summer season is the best time to relax in the open air and enjoy the mild evenings that are a relief from the day’s heat. Get-togethers are even better in the coolness of the evening hours. It’s a time for loved ones to gather and enjoy a stress-free time together. There are great ways to transform your backyard into a perfect party place without going over budget. Here are some suggestions to help you get the most out of the summer evenings to come.

Clean out the area outside. Space is the focus here, so take the time to go through the tools, toys, accessories, and junk that’s scattered in your yard. A tool rack, a large storage bin, or a cabinet with doors are all ideal ways to cover the rest and keep what you need close at hand. Once the area has been cleaned and you have extra space, get out the mower, cut the grass and edge it to create a neat and tidy palette for your surroundings. A well-kept yard gives the illusion of tidiness and order and is key to any party area.

After cleaning out the clutter, choose where everyone will sit. If you don’t have patio furniture, consider getting some at a rummage sale or discount vendor and sprucing it up with some new, soft cushions and repainting with some rust-repelling spray paint. You can get much more value for your money of furniture for only a few dollars and then change it into something you’ll be proud to show off. If you don’t have a shaded area in your patio, consider leasing or purchasing a gazebo to make shade for your guests. They are like having a new room outside and have paneled doors that are easy to come in and out of and provide a great area for socializing. They can also serve to keep the flying insects out if you choose to serve the refreshments inside the garden gazebo.

Food and drinks are some of the best parts of outdoor get-togethers. Lemonade with frozen cubes of strawberry puree is a great way to add a flavorful twist to standard lemonade. You can also freeze lemonade into cubes and serve it with ice-cold lemon-lime soda for a tart and tangy secret ingredient!

As the night comes in, the mosquitoes and moths come out, so consider buying the best bug repellent you can find to make your evening last even longer. They can really take care of the problem of biting bugs and make a better outdoor environment for you and your guests. Moreover, if you don’t have one already, you can get something for making a fire outside for about $150-$160 from a local discount store. Look online for classified ads by people looking to get rid of their perfectly good outdoor products, due to a move or remodeling. This is a wonderful way to get patio items at a huge discount than purchasing them new from a retailer. Try putting up some lights outside to make your party even better!
