Adobe Photoshop is one of the leading image editing software programs on the market today. Adobe Photoshop, developed by Adobe Systems, has become one of the standard programs used by web developers, designers, advertising agencies, and even professional photographers worldwide.

It is easy to question, ?Why is Photoshop so popular across so many industries?? You may even wonder how it can used by so many different people with so many different needs?

The main answer to these questions is that Photoshop is filled with so many powerful features that it meets the needs of a variety of people in a variety of industries. If you want to manipulate or enhance your photos Photoshop has the tools that allow you to do this. Because of these features Photoshop easily stands out from the rest of the photo editing software on the market today. If you want to enhance, edit, or alter your images you can easily do this with Photoshop.

What are these amazing features of Adobe Photoshop?

The selection feature is the tool you will use most often. It is one of the most basic tools in the program but also one of the most powerful. With this tool, you can select the part of your image where you want the changes you wish to make to take effect. Any unselected areas are not affected. The options of the selection tool include the lasso, pen and marquee tool.

Altering your image size is another powerful feature found in Photoshop. Using the size tool you are able to enlarge or reduce the overall size of your image. Whether you want to increase or decrease the size of your image, this is the tool to use.

Another frequently used tool is the crop tool. Choose which parts of your image you want to keep and eliminate the rest. Any area that you have not selected will be deleted. Using the crop tool is like taking a scissors to your photo.

The sharpening and softening tool is another tool that the Photoshop has become known for. You can sharpen blurry images or created a blurred effect using this tool.

Creating panoramas is another amazing tool included in Photoshop. Using the merge feature you can merge two or more images as one. Take your individual shots and convert them to one group photo.

Removal of unwanted objects of elements in an image is another great tool that Photoshop is known for. With this technique, one of the tools you will be using is the clone tool, which is essential in maintaining the texture of the image. This particular feature is particularly useful when getting rid of objects that are distracting in order to give more focus on the subject. This feature can also be used to get rid of acne marks in the face in close up portraits and it can also be used to make someone look younger by removing wrinkles and age spots.

The use of layers is another powerful feature of Photoshop. Layers allow you to work on different parts of your photograph individually and then put them together for a dramatic final photo.

These features are simply the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what Photoshop has to offer. Photoshop allows you to turn ordinary photos into extraordinary works of art through the use of the features I have mentioned. If you are an amateur or professional photographer Photoshop has the tools to help you.
