Summer Budget Design Tips for the Outdoors

Posted at 4:53 am under House and Home

The summer season is the best time to loosen up outdoors and bask in the comfortable evenings that follow a hot summer’s day. Parties are even better in the lower temperatures of the evening hours. It’s a time for loved ones to gather and enjoy a stress-free time together. There are creative ideas to turn your outdoor living space into a party spot without breaking the bank. Here are some tricks to help you get the best out of the summer evenings to come.

Get everything cleaned and organized. Space is the focus here, so take the time to look through the clutter that’s scattered in your back yard. A tool rack, a large storage bin, or a cabinet with doors are all perfect ways to store what you’ll keep and keep what you need close at hand. Once the space has been cleared and you have extra space, get out the electric mower, cut the grass and edge it to create a neat and tidy palette for your surroundings. A landscaped yard gives the illusion of tidiness and order and is vital to any party space.

Now that the outside area is well-organized, establish where everyone will sit. If you don’t have patio furniture, consider buying some at a yard sale or thrift store and fixing it up yourself with some new cushions and repainting with some rust-repelling spray paint. You can get hundreds of dollars-worth of furniture for very little cost and then transform it to look like you bought it from an expensive design store. If you don’t have a shaded top in your yard, consider buying or renting a canopy gazebo to make shade for your guests. They are like an extra room and have paneled doors that easily open up and make for an inviting area to sit. They can also serve to keep the bugs out if you choose to serve the refreshments inside the patio gazebo.

Food and drinks are some of the best parts of outdoor get-togethers. Lemonade with strawberry puree ice cubes is a great way to add a flavorful twist to standard lemonade. You can also freeze flavored fruit drinks into cubes and serve it with ice-cold lemon-lime soda for a tart and tangy twist on a classic summer beverage!

Once evening falls, the mosquitoes and moths come out, so consider buying the best bug repellent you can find to make your evening last even longer. They can really eliminate or repel the pesky bugs and improve your outdoor environment for you and your guests. Furthermore, if you don’t have one already, you can buy an implement to keep a fire going outside for about $150-$160 from a local discount store. Search online for classified ads by people looking to get rid of their outdoor items in good condition, because of moving or redecorating. This is a wonderful way to get patio items at a huge discount than purchasing them new from a retailer. For added pizzazz, try stringing some lights outside to make your party really shine!
