Additionally, the optical image stabilizer and wide angle lens ensures silent zooming and highly accurate speed. Ideally, this camera is absolutely perfect for photographing wildlife due to the zoom being silent enough so as not to alert any animals you may be trying to photograph.

The 2.5 inch LCD features what is called a DIGIC 4 Image Processor. This improves the face detection which brings out all the features in the person on the photograph. Furthermore, the camera produces pictures in a convenient JPEG format so of course one never has to worry about whether or not one’s computer will be able to read the data.

The camera shoots in frame movie mode and offers exposure options like beach, snapshot, high sensitivity, portrait, color accent, night snapshot, landscape, snow, color swap, aquarium, stitch assist, night scene, sunset, macro, fireworks, sports mode, foliage and indoor. Canon Digital Rebel XSi - Review

Regarded as an entry level camera, the Canon Digital Rebel XSi which measures 5.2 x 2.4 x 3.9 inches and weighs 16.8 ounces is available in two different styles. Consumers have the choice of either a silver casing or a plain black casing.

While one certainly cannot argue that the camera has a good grip, some people to feel the casing looks cheap. Of course, others argue that this is simply because of the smooth surface looking as though it’s been made from plastic. Overall, the camera doesn’t feel quite as comfortable in your hands when compared to the vast majority of other cameras. It is also worth noting that previous Canon digital cameras never had the same 3 inch screen as this model. You’ll also notice that the controls are situated on the right hand side of the screen.

Judging from reports, most consumers seem to be at the with the playback images and also the click of the buttons. While a higher resolution sensor has made it possible for quality playback images, some people complain that there is some delay when using the zoom feature.

You are able to see up, down and side of the screen without any problem. Even when the Canon is held nearly upright for a shot overhead it remains clear. The viewing angle is approximately 160 to 170 degrees. It is the same for vertical and horizontal.

Even though the image quality equation is nothing spectacular, the kit lens is considerably lightweight and needs considering it’s a stabilized lens. Additionally, the rear screen makes it easy to adjust settings and although it doesn’t have a top screen like previous models, it does have a detached status screen on the main screen. Furthermore, ISO value is continuously displayed in the viewfinder.

While most users would agree that the color reproduction and macros are excellent and that the camera is incredibly fast, some users tend to feel that the camera has difficulty with regards to auto-focus. It seems that the biggest complaint is that the camera is often unable to select the correct point of focus. However, total for accuracy is almost impossible when one utilizes the center focus. Unfortunately though, the end result often remains the same, in that photos come out fuzzy. Of course, not all users seem to have this complaint.

Of course, one also needs to take into consideration that some consumers may very well be under the wrong impression in that they believe that the “live view” allows for them to utilize the camera in the same way as they you would utilize a regular point and shoot digital camera. Instead, the “live view” feature still requires an even surface or a tripod. To Then again, some people have mentioned that using either of the two “live view” modes tends to be to draw out with regards to hand held shots.

Even though the camera does have room for improvement, the fact remains, it is an adequate camera none the less and in the majority of cases, buyers have been happy with the quality and also the features. Furthermore, it appears that many people are also very happy with the ergonomics of the Canon Digital Rebel XSi.

A Review of the Canon EOS Rebel T1i

1. The Canon EOS Rebel Ti In Brief

Overall this is a good, if not a great camera, the Canon EOS Rebel Ti is a good, if not great medium range SLR which is relatively affordable and offers 15 megapixels for a higher resolution than many competing models of digital camera. 2. LCD Display

The 3″ LCD screen is faultless and is in fact one of the better LCD displays we’ve seen.

3. Image quality and autofocus are both good, but maybe not quite what you’d expect with a 15 megapixel from Canon. The biggest complaint users seem to have is that the Canon EOS Rebel Ti’s autofocus mechanism is loud. While only a little noisy at ISO 1600, switching to ISO 3200 can be loud enough to startle users the first couple of times. It’s not enough of an issue to be a deal breaker, but it is something photographers should know beforehand. 4. Picture Quality/Live View

Picture quality is good, but again not quite as good as you might want from a 15 megapixel SLR. Overall, the pictures come out more than clear and sharp enough for the casual photographer, though for professional and semi-pro applications the Rebel Ti may not be the answer. The Canon EOS Rebel Ti’s live view stills are no better or worse than any other digital camera on the market, so there’s nothing to report in this department.

5. Processor

The Canon EOS Rebel Ti has an improved digital processor, though users should keep in mind that 15 megapixels means a lot of data and even a faster processor still takes time to handle this workload. Save time is good, but there is definitely room for improvement here. The processing time can be a problem if you need to take continuous shots, however.

6. HD Recorder

In this regard, the Canon EOS Rebel Ti performs exceptionally well. The HD recording features of this camera are superior to almost any other digital camera in its range. At 720p, the HD recording quality is incredible at 30 fps. However, this model records 1080p at only 20fps. However, if you need 1080p resolution, you’re better off with a HD camcorder instead. The Rebel lacks a microphone input and its built in sound recording is less than spectacular - so you can get some amazing 720p HD video, but if you need sound which is good as the picture, you’ll be disappointed.

Conclusion:

Despite its minor faults, the Canon EOS Rebel Ti is a decent choice for casual photographers looking for a digital camera. Its HD recording capabilities are impressive and overall performance is better than many other digital cameras out there. However, at the price you could probably do better and there are other comparably priced models that can provide better quality, if not HD recording quality.

Key Features:

*15.1-megapixels, DIGIC 4 Image Processor

* Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens

*Full HD video capture recording at 1920 x 1080 resolution and HDMI output

*3 inch Clear View LCD with Live View

Pros:

*Lightweight construction

*720p HD video recording at 30 fps, 1080p at 20fps

*Large, high quality LCD screen

*Affordable, readily available upgrades (SDHC, SD cards)

Cons:

*Video output does not have Autofocus

*No microphone input

*Continuous photo shooting is slow at 3.4fps
